Choosing a phone
I need a phone to go with the 770. As the 770 provides most functionality, the phone doesn't need to do much. 3G, calendar with alarms and SyncML/Opensync/whatever, and of course phone functionality would be enough. And it should be small, as it's just a simple device in the end. Something like Nokia 6260 - a simple clamshell - would be nice, but unfortunately Nokia had not yet figured out how to fit nice design and latest technology (3G) into the same phone. And yeah, it would be nice if it didn't cost too much.
Any ideas or phones to check out? Samsung SGH-Z300 perhaps? |
I just got the Nokia 6021 last week. Not a clamshell, but a great phone. Has all the needed features (class10 edge / calendar / syncml / bluetooth) for the 770. it's also nice and small.

Yup, that's what I use with my 770 too. Bought it specifically for it as it was the simplest, least expensive Nokia model having both BT *and* EDGE. Otherwise no frills (camera mp3 etc.), just a competent business phone. Works well, easy to use and good battery life.

All the reviews state the 6021 as having only Class 6 Edge. Can someone confirm if it is Class 6 or Class 10??

from the nokia site:
Data Transfer * EDGE multislot class 6, up to 177.6 kbps * GPRS multislot class 10, up to 80 kbps agh, edge was class 6, sorry :) |
Thanks! I am looking for a new phone to use with the 770 (currently have an SE k750i which only has GPRS..). I am on T-Mobile in the US. Do you think I would notice much of a difference between class 6 and class 10 EDGE??
