Is there a mediaplayer that can play folders?
Most mediaplayers I have seen for the N800 work through a library which is read from the mp3tags. I would like mediaplayer that also support selecting and playing from musicfolders. Is there such a mediaplayer for the N800?

Yes there is, it's MEDIABOX.
You can find it here: http://mediabox.garage.maemo.org/ Go to Download and chose you preferes method (.deb or Repositories ) Your all set then. PS: Dont forget to install mplayer (https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_...elease_id=1338) and python 2.5 (http://pymaemo.garage.maemo.org/) before. Hope that helps. El Amir |

Kilikali -- sort of -- does: You can select a directory for the playlist and it will add all the songs in that directory.

Another option:
mpd -- (Music Playing Daemon) a music playing daemon; it sits idly in the background until you want something played, then sits busily in the background playing it. No user interface. Use it in conjunction with one or more of: mpc -- (Music Player Control) command-line controller; not especially helpful (mostly). mmpc -- (Maemo Music Player Control) works quite nicely, interface similar to OS2007 built-in media player. powerlaunch -- Not sure this is available for OS2008, but alters behavior of hardware keys. Can be used to control mpd with display off and touchscreen input ignored. (other software) mpd has a network interface, so you could even control it from your desktop machine. Saves fishing it out of your pocket, I guess. :) At the moment, I'm mainly using mmpc. |
