Modest encryption?
So, I delayed awhile on loading up Modest because I wanted to see it become mature. But this weekend I had a need for a IMAP client using S/MIME encryption. Knowing that the built in client supports it I just assumed Modest would as well. Off I went, installed, loaded up the account settings and it looked like IMAP folder bliss! Until I tried to load up a encrypted e-mail. It came up as gibberish. And when I tried to find where to load up my certificates, it seems there is no spot for that.
Does this mean that the e-mail software will no longer support S/MIME encryption? This particular device filled yet another small niche, and that is there are NO other hand held devices out there that you can use with S/MIME encryption. But if this is going away, I have to say for one I will be very sad. Can anyone shed any light on this? I'd be happy to do a small writeup on how to start encrypting e-mails using tinyca and a little bit of time and effort. Thanks |
