Web-based Chinese input

This one was developed for iPhone, but seems to work:

Note: use the supplied Web keyboard, not the N800 virtual keyboard; use * (or back space on N800 virtual keyboard) to delete.

Adblock Plus seems to block the web keypad, and disabling ABP on that page doesn't help. A CSS issue?

How would you compare this to Maemo's own CJK package?

Btw, I checked another web-based Asian language (totally unrelated to Chinese though, the alphabetic/syllabic script is based on sanskrit, just like Hindi) text entry page on the web and there disabling ABP made it work.

Just install Tibetan Machine Uni font, get used to some necessary vertical scrolling and you'll be copying ancient texts in no time!

Maemo's own CJK package is more for how the system displays Chinese and Japanese characters but to my knowledge, does not offer input of Chinese/Japanese characters. Even Pinyin to character conversion would be good, but that's not in the cards.

Have you checked

Not quite ready for primetime but still. AFAIK the Nokia tablets aren't officially for sale in any of the CJK-character countries.

But this is straying further away from the original subject of web-based Chinese input... :o

Not to stray even further, but does a similar site exist for Japanese web-based input?

The methods for input already available as programs for Maemo don't work for me (tried to get them on the 770, but no dice).

Because I have a 770, I don't visit the N800 forum very often, which is why I missed that. Thanks.
