USB keyboard Troubleshooting
 

Hi,

I've got Host mode working on my N800, but (after the informational error messages about the hub not being supported and being unable to mount the filesystems etc ), my favorite USB keyboard doesn't work (no text entry).

I generally use the keyboard with my linux box.

Anyway, how should I troubleshoot this? Should I search general linux keyboard troubleshooting pages? Should I try it with a powered hub? What do we know about what *doesn't* work?

I have tried a Logitech Classic Keyboard 200 (USB) with the N800 using host mode and it works fine. No powered hub was needed.

Thanks for the feedback. I also have another keyboard that works. I just don't know where to start to figure out why my preferred keyboard is a no-go.

If you've a powered hub about, I'd try that first.
I seem to recall someone needing a power injector for some keyboards, though I think the keyboard worked without it, just missed a lot of keys. Not what you're seeing.

Well, I tried a powered hub, and it still doesn't work. I suppose that this keyboard is a special case, as it has a touchpad and a non-powered hub. I guess I'll try installing syslog and checking the messages. Is there a handy way to get verbose debugging out of the usb stuff?
