MP4 files playback problem (Default player)

Hi, I have two technically almost identical mp4 files (please see screenshots below, info from the app MediaInfo), but one of them can be played by Nokia default player and the other gives an error. Why? Please help, i have no idea about the nokia player's oddities(
Played normally is number 1, and doesn't play number 2.

Have you tried another player?

The built in Media Player isn't bad, but it's almost as quirky as Sony stuff...

I'm half hoping someone ports TCPMP to the NIT platform...
It was ugly but it really worked!
Either that or VLC... which is also ugly-but-works :D (Would need some optimization 'tho; VLC is not particularly efficient...)

VLC is available, I'm pretty sure.

Actually for most MP4 files the built in Media Player is much better then mplayer. At least for the video podcasts I'm using with Video Center and most of which contain MP4 videos (presumably iPod/iPhone optimized) playback on the default Media Player is quite smooth, while in mplayer I'm often getting only something like 0.5 fps.

On the other hand for divx mplayer seems to be the better choice.

That would be h.264, which mplayer is very much not optimized for.

The only perceivable difference between the files is the space in the filename… and outside of databases, i thought that ceased to matter 10 years ago.

My god..... You're right.)) But I tried to rename other files so they'd have spaces in the filename, and they are played back normally. I'll do more testing later today.

Another difference is that the one that doesn't play is 320*180, whereas the one that plays is 320*240.

The built-in Media Player used to be picky about resolutions being multiples of 16, so I'd guess that's it.

I don't know if it still is, because all of my videos are either downloaded PSP/iPod ones (MP4) or DivX/Xvid-style generated through tablet-encode.
