Is Nokia still going to manufacture tablets (Motorola's, Apple's loss)
 

Hi,

I would like to know, if Nokia is still going to develop and support product line of Nokia tablet series under global recession, market disruptions, losses by competitors like Motorola, Apple on Wall Street, closing plant in Germany and on stocks drop -5% in US ?

What is chance to develop new models if competitors and market goes into recession and Asia manufacturers offer the like products at much lower price ?
I just need to know your market opinion.

I don't see a reason why not? Nokia's doing well overall, and if the tablets were commercial busts, they wouldn't have brought three of them to the market...

No. In fact, they're retconning the entire tablet line into a dream sequence.

AFAIK the tablets have in fact sold very well. In fact I bet Nokia gets really great margins with them. What goes for closing the factory in Germany, they're opening a new one in Romania aren't they? Kallasvuo said that the Bochum factory costed Nokia 23% of their entire manufacturing while the plant only produced 6% of all manufacturing. They were the last cellphone maker that had factories in Germany anyways.

What goes for falling stocks. All stocks fell, not just Nokia's..
