Bugs with OS2008 & Maps app
 

I was in Austria last week using Maps app to navigate around & all was fine initially. I shut the device down and later started the device and found maps app would crash. It gave no indication of what was wrong.

I used File Manager to determine that the memory card was in a "Read-only" state and Maps app was falling over because of this. The card had not been removed from the device so i was surprised by this.

The lack of feedback from the app was poor but the memory card becoming read-only was very frustrating as i didn't have another memory card to hand (assuming i could have transfered the mapping data across).

I also find that i can not download the maps from the maps app and have to transfer them to my memory card from the Navicore DVD.

Has anyone else seen this?

have you solved this issue? i dealing with the same problem. once selected, it tries to open but shuts down immediately. i've tried to uninstall and reinstall again but its still not working.
