OpenSSH crashing.

I installed OpenSSH, set the root password, thought I would replace it with dropbear from maemo-hackers, didn't work out so I reinstalled openssh. It didn't ask me to set root password (although its still the same from my last install) and if I run ssh root@192.168.0.4 in xterminal on the device, it asks me for password which I put in and I'm in a root terminal. I try connecting on a computer (winscp root@192.168.0.4), I get asked for the password which I put in and it just stays there until "Network error: Software caused connection abort".

Putty, after entering the password, just stays there.
