Adjusting the car mount
Did anyone else get a car mount swivel that's completely stuck? I see the screw in the hinge, but I apparently don't have the right tool to adjust it. Shouldn't that be something a consumer could tinker with? I've tried a whole set of Hex tools as well as my set of torx and similar drivers but nothing fits it. Am I missing something?

Re: Adjusting the car mount
Not sure what you mean, Rick. I thought I just used a Phillips screwdriver on mine... I'll check though.

Re: Adjusting the car mount
You can use an allen key (i forget what size) to loosen the pivot. Once adjusted you re-tighten.

Re: Adjusting the car mount
Philips screwdriver didn't work. It looks like an allen key, but I wasn't able to find the right size, despite having a decent collection in my toolbox.
My point, though, is why should I need a special (and not provided) tool for this? I recently reviewed the Nokia HH-12 and CR-82, both of which were fully adustable via a small user-friendly knob. |
Re: Adjusting the car mount
Had exactly the same problem. Certainly annoyed me. In the end I took it along to a local hardware the store and tried a load of tools until I found one that fitted. I undid it there and bought a conventional nut and bolt!

Re: Adjusting the car mount
In my toolbox, the allen key size that worked on mine is identified as "3".
