mic defaults to mute on skype
 

I have an n800 running OS2008. Many times (if not every time) that I use SkypeOut, my mic is defaulted to mute. It took a short while to figure out that people saying 'hello... hello....' was due to this mute.

To activate the mic, I do a skype test call. That will activate the mic. I don't see any mic control options anywhere in Skype, or in the n800. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any solutions?

I've had my N800 for only a few days now, but I haven't seen this issue with Skype that you're describing.

After I installed it (OS 2008 btw), no one in my contact list was online. I called the echo test contact and that all worked good. Last night I finally had a chance to use the voice chat feature and it worked perfectly without having to do the test call thing.

So maybe the test call is required at least once?
