Re: Garmin makes a Phone?
Interesting stuff. The Nuvis are top of their class for GPS. We'll see how well it translates into a phone.

Re: Garmin makes a Phone?
Did anyone else notice there are not screenshots or pictures of an input method? I hope they don't use that large standard soft phone keypad for all text input. Other than that this thing looks really awesome.

Re: Garmin makes a Phone?
I wonder if this has anything to do with Verizon opening their network to other devices. From what I read, the devices have to certified by Verizon to run on Verizon's network.
Companies that are not known for cellular devices may be trying to cash in? |

Anyone know if there is a way to do a simulation routing mode on wayfinders mapping software for the N810? |

From the media galery http://www8.garmin.com/buzz/nuvifone/media_gallery.jsp
I see too many "bars" icons... I think it has WiFi. No mention about input methods, but I think it's all thumb-driven. What I do like is the full integration of the applications. It's GPS soul is very strong (of course is a Garmin product), but looks like they haven't forgotten about integration with the camera (geotagging out of the box) and a suite of PIM applications. I hope it runs Linux. A few icons are very close to the Maemo ones. EDIT: the nüvifone home page is here: http://www.garmin.com/nuvifone/ |

If it has its YetAnotherOwn OS, than it's not for me even if it looks quite cool indeed.
