Gizmo & N800... Troubleshooting Help Please
I have downloaded Gizmo 4.0 beta on to my windows PC. I created two Gizmo accounts, one for my nokia and one for my pc so I can video call home when I am out.
Here is the trouble: PC calls Nokia, Nokia rings and I answer... PC never recognizes a connection is made and keeps ringing until it gives up after 30 seconds or so. Other problem... I call my pc... my nokia makes the call and rings but the PC does nothing except change my status from "available" to "on the phone" I have very little tech experience but my port settings look correct... at least the numbers are what the gizmo help site said they should be. Any suggestions??? Thanks. |
Re: Gizmo & N800... Troubleshooting Help Please
I honestly have no clue. But have you tried making the call from a different network? Say your PC is one one network (home) and your n800 is on another network (work or Starbucks, whatever). Maybe that could be the problem.

If you need this LAN functionality, you might be able set up static ports and IPs for each client to use. But that depends greatly on what kind router you have as a gateway to the Internet and whether it has the configurability. The instruction for doing this setup are on the Gizmo forums in some sticky threads. |

Hi Mark, welcome to the iTT forums. You were a great help to me some time back on the Gizmo Project forums on a small problem I was facing with Gizmo on my N800, and I'm glad you've come on board to help us folks out :)
