Who needs a Nokia 770?

I wrote this yesterday in response to an Email I received. I'd like to edit it and flesh it out based on others' experiences too - maybe eventually define who REALLY should get a Nokia 770.

My Nokia will not replace my Smartphone. It will not replace my iPod nano. It will not replace my laptop. It was a solution to a problem I didn't know I had - and now don't want to be without it :)

The 770 is an EXTREMELY good ebook reader for those, like me, who prefer mosty well rendered text only books.

When a good drm reader exists it will be one of the best readers on the market.

Oooh good call. And who really settles down with an eBook longer than the 770's battery life?

Kinda reminds me of the TiVo delimma. Anyone who uses one for awhile has the same sentiments.

It raises the question of aggressive convergence vs splintered devices.

I view 770 as a phone replacement as well. And I wouldn't carry around a separate mp3 player. Admittedly a dedicated mp3 player will for long be better than a convergence mix... Of course, I wouldn't give up my laptop :-)

It all depends... on the user.. the markets... the technology...
