Key Provided Automatically Option for WEP?
Anyone know if this is possible on the N800?
The network I am trying to get on require WEP encryption, but the key is provided automatically (that's how we set it up on our laptops). Any help/pointers/answers would be appreciated. I did a search but could not find anything specific to my problem. BReady |
Re: Key Provided Automatically Option for WEP?
How about "open network authentification?" Is there an option for that somewhere? I am trying to log into the wireless network at work, but there are a few things on the windows wireless setup that are not on the N800 (selecting open net auth is one, then having the WEP key retrieved automatically is another).
Anyone? BReady |
Re: Key Provided Automatically Option for WEP?
Ok, so I have been trying to figure this out by searching google and I think what I need is:
"open system authentication" as opposed to "shared system authentication" The network I am trying to get on is a hidden infrastructure network, using open system authentication with WEP encryption (with PEAP / MSCHAPv2... requiring a user name and password [which I have]). I hope all that stuff I wrote makes some sense. BReady |
Re: Key Provided Automatically Option for WEP?
Well, if anyone is wondering.
Atleast according to a 2 year old bugzilla report: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417 802.1x (Key Provided Automatically Option) is not supported with WEP encryption on the IT's. Dang it! I can't rlogin/ftp on to the tools I work on now!? I am going to keep on reading this bug (there are a few comments). Man, this is a big reason why I bought this thing.. That and make changes/add scripts on my modded XBOX (which I am able to do and its great!). ;) Update: Made an update to the bug listed here: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=950 BReady |
Re: Key Provided Automatically Option for WEP?
Did anybody ever find a solution to this issue? I see one of the comments on that bug page mentions creating a manual connection and setting the "manual username". Has anbody confirmed if that works?
