[KDE] Media Problems in Maemo after KDE

Hello to all,

I was wondering if anyone is are having problems using the Default "Media Player" and/or "Canola 2". Not sure if it is KDE install fault but after KDE install, the Media Player cannot find any libraries. And Canola2 cannot play any MP3's on the internal card (MMC2). Canola plays videos fine. Media Player plays fine but just cannot see any videos and mp3s in the device. You have to open each media in file manager one at a time.

I am using a N810 with KDE installed on MMC1 (microsd) isong the easy way.

I wish to eliminate the possibility that it was because of KDE

thanks you

Thank you, I did a compete re-flash and will try this again (install KDE). I think it is not the KDE install itself but the built in - music player in KDE. It moved my playlists somewhere else that i cant find. Even if i deleted my actual playlists in my memory cards and the device's internal memory, KDE music player still finds it.

There are several "built-in" music players for KDE. Which one are you talking about? What leads you to believe that this app is causing the problems?

I have problem with media player too, unfortunately. Media player cannot find anything. I am running 2.2007.50-2 on N810 boot up from 4G micro/mini adapter on ext drive MMC1. I use another 4G micro and flash without KDE, and the same apps and environment. There is no problem with media player this time. I am afraid to say, KDEv2 (SD boot) probably linked to the media player's misbehave.
I installed KDEv2 following this, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...t=15491&page=7, thread #66.

@sungrove, what version of KDE you are using and how do you do the installation?

@PCQ: I read your post as early as 1-13-08, http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...d.php?p=140341. What version you were running and also, how do you do your installation.

EDIT:KDE v1 .deb installation running on N800 does not seem to problem with media player.

TIA,

bun

At the time I was running v1 of KDE now I'm running v2 & I've always booted from MMC (non-deb version of KDE).

So maybe you guys are on to something. Although I'm not sure what... I just double checked the MIME type associations and they all seem to be OK. I think something is borken in the osso media server. MediaPlayer will recognize any songs that I have in a playlist and will recognize playlists.
