Ebay battery seller has threatened to sue me

Just as the thread title says, an ebay cheap Nokia battery seller has threatened to sue me because I left what I feel is legitimate feedback for them. If they do, you can bet I will then mention their name here. My feedback? Two things, bad battery quality and being charged double shipping for the purchase of two items at once. Their response: give me negative feedback and then ask that I remove the negative feedback from them for their removal of my negative feedback. Pretty slick heh? It seems they have this figured out. Then, since I refused to go along, they have been sending me harrassing messages through Ebay calling me a lier and saying that I violated Ebay's policys. Well, if giving legit negative feedback on Ebay is against policy, I don't need an account there. As for suing me, that would be interesting. I wonder if any overworked American courts would take the case? This company is trash in my opinion. They sell junk, overcharge for shipping and then threaten you if you don't go along.

1. you don't say where you live

2. you don't say where the seller lives

3. you cannot be sued for leaving bad feedback on eBay

Oh... the beauty of living in a first world country with first world confrontations. Here, in my little and poor Argentina, that kind of situations are just a bad joke or something :-)

Yeah right!! You can't be sued for negetive feedback - that's total crap! You should totally report them to eBay. They are not allowed to threaten you in any way and risk loosing their sellership with eBay if they persist.

Thanks for the support everyone. I know it does seem like a silly thing to worry about . They would have to find me first and what exactly would they be able to sue for. I know they are just doing their best to intimidate me. I posted this thread largely because I wanted to give you all a heads up about what you may end up dealing with if you buy from these cheap battery sellers. They obviously don't like negative feedback no matter how legit it is and they play hard ball with you if you give it to them. You will end up with their negative feedback for you if you leave it for them even though you have fully fulfilled your end of the bargain.
So FWIW FYI Oh, and yes, I have notified Ebay.

Thanks
Neil

Report them to ebay and be done with it.

So as not to cause problems for this forum I will not post the Ebay seller's user name here. But if you do want their Ebay user name, private message me and I will give it to you that way. I have reported it to Ebay. However, if I was purchasing from an ebay seller I would want this information. But as I said, I will keep the details off this thread and email them directly to you.

I am more suspicious of you than of ebay battery sellers; I have bought several batteries on ebay with no problems. Since they are so cheap, the most you stand to lose from a bad purchase is about $10, last time I checked the prices. Oh yes, you stand to lose if the battery explodes, but exactly the same number of cheap batteries exploding have been reported here as exploding Nokia batteries: zero.

One thing that makes me suspicious of you is the absence of quotations. I don't know what you said that made the dealer threaten to sue you, and I don't know exactly what the dealer said back.

In any case, the low cost involved makes this a tempest in a teapot, except tea might cost more.

If you want the details, I'll give you anything you like. I have nothing to hide. It's just time consuming to do all that. But ask me specific questions and I'm happy to answer them. But I wrote the basic facts in my original post. Hey, if you are happy with these Ebay batteries, great. I'm not. And I wasn't at all happy with being charged double for shipping. It was a very small package. They simply multiplied the shipping costs times 2 for the purchase of two items. Bottom line, I wasn't happy, I left negative feedback on EBay for them, they started to try to intimidate me. Don't you want to know about that? LOL, suspicious? That's pretty funny:D
