[Canola] my canola got "fried"
 

1. there was un update for canola that i tried to install...
got error "could not install"

2. removed canola and canola tuner
could not reinstall.

3. removed python and then i cannot find a single click
link to python...anyone have one?...

the link i found required lots on command line stuff...
there was a one click install but only for an update...

4. im stuck...anyone have ideas about this canola problem or
python install link?

Hi Nokian111,

This issue ( a problem between Canola and the application installer )is already talked abou in several threads here.

The only way to fix this problem now is by command line.
Installing python would not save this problem, unfortunately.

But actuallty, if you know how to connect to your device using a terminal you need only 3 commands to do everything : remove canola, remove libs and then re install.

*pythons seems to be removed from single click install (it's hidden now only if you need)

Sorry for the trouble we are trying to find out what's happenning with this issue, because if you have a brand new device this doesn't happen... so it is probably some conflict happening between other packages / repositories with canola and the maemo extras repositories.

Hi, I need Help. I have tried to install Canola 2 from the openbossa site. Installed the repository and then the app but it will not let me. Problem Python 2.5-terra. I followed the instruction re disabling Maemo extra but then the install simply say maemo extra folder is disabled - enable it to install etc etc. Am I a dunce or am I missing a vital part being relativly new to the N800.
