different Internet browser for N810
Dear all,
I am having problems recognising the password system of my company roaming system so I cannot log remotely on my email account and I wonder if there is another Internet browser software I could download on my N810 and try. I read some of the threads here but could not get to the bottom, mainly as I am not used with linux and so on so, for example, could I install Opera from N800 to my N810? or other browsers? thanks, Serban |
Re: different Internet browser for N810
It's not clear what exactly you're asking.. are there problems with the MicroB browser in your N810? (and is there any reason to think they would go away if you switched to Opera?).
Opera can't be installed, and there aren't that many alternative browsers (although 'iinks' is one - search the forum) |
Re: different Internet browser for N810
yes, the browser that came with N810 won't accept my password and user name so I would like to try another browser
I will search for iinks in the forum is the only other option for internet browsing at this stage? |

Re: different Internet browser for N810
What do you mean by "the browser (...) won't accept my password and user name"? Don't you rather think that's an issue with the server not accepting it? Do you get a reply from the server saying it was rejected or is the problem that the form is not even sent?
You could maybe try switching off Javascript in the browser's options. With opera on the 770 I often had the problem that some malfunctioning Javascript (which was to blame on Opera) was blocking a form to be submitted. |
Re: different Internet browser for N810
I'm just guessing, but his problem *could* be related to one I had a while back, where one of my routers would not accept passwords from my N800 using either Opera or microb. Never got that one resolved, but it appears to orient around password hashing.

Re: different Internet browser for N810
Just an aside. Has anything further developed with the idea of a 'third' browser'?
I saw a link to Webkit/Gtk which is talked about at http://www.atoker.com/blog/2007/08/0...0-and-the-eal/ (I ask, even though I am happy with Mozilla) |
