b-i-t-c-h-x Port?

yes yes, i know the name is deceiving but all you linux people out there i'm sure you know its a very capable IRC client. Atleast it was back when i was using it.

Anyway, is there anyway someone could port this over fairly easily? It runs in the terminal so hildonizing shouldnt be an issue and the dependancies shouldnt be too demanding if anything. I havent the slightest bit of knowledge in terms of programming so if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

http://b.i.t.c.hx.org i believe.

Looks like it's not even carried in debian testing/unstable any more. :/ You could try irssi or xchat.

I ll give it a go when I get back home tonight. I was thinking about trying to build irssi but since I do not have a BT kb yet it seemmed a little pointless to do that. I will do my best.

Well, *****X does not compile cleanly yet. I have quickly put a package with the latest irssi. You can download it from

Reason why it got removed from debian:

You'll probably have to install from the command line:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i package.deb

Re: b-i-t-c-h-x Port?

It contains ./ in the tar, don't know if this is accepted by apt.
And yes, this will not work under app manager because section doesn't contain user/ prefix.
Actually the section is "Unknown", should be "net".

spirytsick, why don't you take the debian source? Would be straightforward.

Oh, now i see what happened. Thanks for that. Good to know that kind of decision making is always behind the curtains of this community.
