Nokia 770 as remote

Hello,
as you all see im new at the forums so be gentle :p

Anyways i was wondering if i could get some help because i want to do something specific with my nokia 770 i want to use it as a universal remote.

I'm planning to build a htpc and I was wondering if I could start the htpc with my nokia 770 and then start my tv who will be attached to the htpc with my nokia 770 through a usb irt submitter. The only problem that i'm having is that I don't know any html or how to start a webserver so I can't start a webserver so that I could control everything from the web so do you guys know a other way to do what I wanted to do with my nokia or a simpeler way?

Re: Nokia 770 as remote

install tightvnc server on the HTPC and use vncviewer on the tablet. if the HTPC is a windows box, use rdesktop on the tablet, ensure you have remote enabled on the HTPC (see "my computer"'s properties)

Not sure if i understood correctly but if htpc is windows based you might try this :

You could ignore the x10 stuff and use the webserver to kick off macros/programs/batch files/ or possibly AppControl to control pc via web control pad. You'd basically have to configure the htpc's ir programs to work with dispatcher.

Its not a program specifically designed for your purpose but its a program semi-designed for alot of purposes... a kit you could try.
