BoxWave Designio N810 Case
 

Does anyone have a horizontal flip BoxWave Designio case for N810? It is shown here:

I am mainly interested if it is possible to use N810 without taking it out of this case and what happens when you slide out the keyboard. For some reason, BoxWave only shows images of an empty case, so there is no way to know what it looks (or feels) like with N810 inside.

It looks very similar to this pdair case that I have. http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product...oducts_id=7018. The plastic slips over the keboard only. The I was surprised how usable the keyboard is through the plastic. It is not great but it does work. When closed, the plastic is between the keyboard and the rest of the unit. I was concerned about it affecting the slider by being in there but have not seen any negative affects after several weeks of use.

Thanks! It is good to know that it works :) I am more inclined toward the BoxWave case as it covers more of the device when closed (my pockets are pretty harsh environment for gadgets). Hopefully, it works more or less the same as the PDAir one. As to using the keyboard, especially the SPACE key, I found it pretty hard to use even without the case...

By the way, how easy it is for the leather on your PDAir case to wear out? I have a similar case for the digital camera and the leather has worn out in many spots.

I have not had the 810 case that long, it is not showing any wear yet. My 800 case is several months old and does not show any wear yet. They seem to hold up very well in the short term.

FWIW, I just got my new Boxwave case for my N810. The case is quite nice with good sturdy construction and nice soft leather. I really like having the extra pockets for credit cards and IDs.

I personaly don't care for the plastic cover over the keyboard that also holds the device in the case. The plastic did reduce some of the feedback from the keyboard and I find that I really prefer to feel the buttons more - I use the keyboard quite a lot.

Now you guys might think I'm crazy, but I cut off the little leather bits and the plastic. I'm now holding my N810 in the Boxwave case with a 1 inch strip of industrial strength velcro (from the local craft store)! :D It holds incredibly well. The back of the case is lined with a fabric that is perfect for velcro - it's soft and fuzzy. I adhered the strip of the "hook" velcro to the top/non-removable piece of metal on the back of the tablet. Viola! I'm very pleased!

I recently purchased the Boxwave horizontal case. I like it a lot. Yes, the plastic along the bottom edge covers the keyboard, and is hidden when the N810's screen slides down. I actually think it gives the keyboard a better feel for some reason. Use of leather conditioner from time to time may help keep the leather feeling supple new, especially if you live in a dry climate.

Only downside is I don't see how this could fit in my pocket. It easily doubled the thickness of the package, but at least I have peace of mind that it's safe from harm's way.

if anyone is interested in a pouch. The Sena Case LATERAL POUCH A02 (http://www.senacases.com/) fits pretty good.

intec, nintendo ds lite case, is working out for me. however it doesn't have the convenience of a belt clip, but has a belt loop.
