timezone bug?
In Date and Time, I've set my home city to the closest city "Washington DC, USA" (GMT-5). In xterm, date shows the correct time, even the EST timezone. However, when I copy a file over from host computer via USB, the time of the file is 5 hours earlier than it should be. As if it applied -5 hours AGAIN.
Has anyone else noticed this discrepancy? There doesn't seem to be a TZ environment variable in use (e.g., TZ=EST5EDT). Yes, I do have my the EST timezone set on the host computer (Mac OS X). Could it be a USB Mass Storage thing, e.g., assuming there's a GMT/UTC timestamp on files that are put on USB Mass Storage? - Ian |
All times are GMT. The time now is 19:18. |
