can't navigate xterm
 

Xterm doesn't seem to tell me what files or folders are in the current directory. This is quite important for me and I imagine most people.

Any guidance?

Are you asking for a command to list the files, or saying the command you use isn't working?

"ls -al" works just fine for me.
