Receiving e-mails from GMX fails
 

I want to use the standard e-mail client of the N810.

I entered as POP3 pop.gmx.net and as SMTP mail.gmx.net, just like the FAQ of gmx says.

But all i get is an error while authenticating with pop.gmx.net


Did anyone managed to connect to a gmx account with the standard email-client?

With OS2007 I never had problems getting mail via pop3 from gmx with the standard client! Since I use ClawsMail now (much much better!) I cannot check my former settings anymore. As far as I remember one of the authentification options has to be changed... Just do some experiments, it was not too difficult.

The following options are for German Locale

Erweiterte Einstellungen für GMX:
Eingehend:
* Kennwort-Authentifizierung: Sicher
* Sicherheit: SSL (POP3S)
* Posteingangsport: 995

Ausgehend:
SMTP Authentifizierung: Login
Benutzername: emailadresse
Kennwort: ******
Sicherheit: SSL
Postausgangsport: 465

There is a restriction on the minimum intervall between POP polls. Usually I run into this restriction when I fetch only headers and then read emails quickly.

Manchmal klemmt's wenn nur die header abgerufen werden und dann kurz hintereinander die einzelnen Mails separat abgerufen werden.
