root password reset?

I'm trying to install python and it told me to turn on RD mode, when I entered in the command sudo flash --enable-rd-mode it asks for a password. I checked on google and people said the password should be rootme but I tried that and it didn't work.

Anyways, I stopped messing with that for a while and installed openssh. During the installation it asks me to change my root password. I thought awesome and changed it to something else that I usually use. I went back and tried to access RD mode or just tried using a command in Xterm so it'll ask for my password and every time I enter in my new password it says fail.

Is there a way to just reset the root password?

Re: root password reset?

I installed WINSCP after OpenSSH and 1st time it asked for a NEW password...hope that works for you...as I have found sometime an item previously installed had files that the new install needed.

When you try to install, if it does not, you normally see a detail button, click on it and it shows what is missing.

Sorry you will have to search for the above files as they are listed someplace. I have found that apt-get install "filename" works most of the time, however, you need to be root...also, the default password is "rootme" if I recall correctly.

Good Luck!:)
