Feature/App Request: Replace Bookmarks with Mozilla Weave
Just a request, seeing that this is an Internet Tablet and all:
Mozilla Weave is a service by Mozilla that essentially allows one to save bookmarks to a server, and then access them to whatever device that can connect to that page/service. This is something that FF3 is supposed to exploit to some degree and it would be neat if the IT could also take part of this. My thought is (somewhat) simple: - enhance the already exisiting Bookmarks application to be able to sync bookmarks with Mozilla Weave. - give an option for when (auto or manual) to sync bookmarks to one's Weave account - and make the said application enhancement completely replace the existing Bookmark application when bookmarking is envoked from the Browser or Shell. I'm not sure if this is something already being worked on, but it would be neat for microB-toting ITs to have this feature. It would stretch that "internet tablet" action just a bit further. Update: Here's some more info on Mozilla Weave: http://labs.mozilla.com/2007/12/introducing-weave/ |

ARJWright,
I second the request. This looks really interesting. Perfect for ITT. Should be doable. Thanks for the tip. Dan |
Re: Feature/App Request: Replace Bookmarks with Mozilla Weave
Yeah, two-way bookmark synchronization between desktop browsers and the ITs would be a nice feature to have.
I'm currently using Foxmarks to synchronize my Firefox bookmarks between different computers. The synchronized bookmarks can also be accessed from their web service and its mobile version works quite swiftly with the browsers of 770 and my cell phone. But adding new bookmarks doesn't work with the mobile version. |

I'm a Foxmarks user too... ditto the above.

And me too Foxmarks. We do need a way to share bookmarks. I'm using the nifty Speeddial page now, which is cool, but not automatic enough.
