Fast connecting with BT keyboard
Hello,
Is there any way for *fast* connection with BT keyboard? Currently I have to do: Task Menu->Tools->Control Panel->Bluetooth->Devices->Edit->Connect. Aaaarhg  Is there any faster method? BTW - what are your experiences with battery usage of N800 with BT on and how long can you type on iGo Think Outside BT keyboard with two AAAs? TIA m. |
Re: Fast connecting with BT keyboard
pair up, and with bluetooth on at the tablet end turn on the keyboard.

Yeah, like Tso said, I open the kbd, punch a couple keys to activate it, then start typing. Are you perhaps trying too hard?

Re: Fast connecting with BT keyboard
It's very tedious to turn on the BT on the NIT (until Nokia fixes the BT statusbar).
Until then, there this: http://switchonbt.garage.maemo.org/ (made by the ITT user 'vabgeo'). Then the process of activating a paired BT keyboard is: - Execute switchonbt - press a key a couple of times and you should be up and running. |
Re: Fast connecting with BT keyboard
Thank TA-t3. Main problem with BT connecting were weak batteries in keyboard. But keeping BT on whole time eats IT battery (even if in non-visible mode). SwitchOnBt 1.0.3 doesn't work :(

Re: Fast connecting with BT keyboard
I'm still on OS2007, and switchonbt works for me - I haven't tried an OS2008 version, obviously. It's unfortunate if it doesn't work, it fixes a big deficiency in the Nokia BT handling.
BTW, I can't say I have noticed much battery usage with BT on. I used to keep BT on at all times in the beginning, I only started to turn it off (to actually make some good use of the broken design) when my status bar became full (another broken design, that status bar.. it can't be stretched even though there's lots of space). |
Re: Fast connecting with BT keyboard
switchonbt works fine here on os08.
