Hi Guys,

Just a quick note to say, well done and thanks for getting the Canola2 port done for 770/OS2006.

It rocks so far!!

Hi Alistar, thanks... I wish we could do more for the 770 (still a lot of problems, slow to load the video first time, etc etc) but the device is running a really old software that is hard to do everything for it :)

But we are happy that you like it!

I think if we have a choice not to use the mplayer to play the video, then the loading time should be much faster. I switch back to Canola 1 because of that reason.

racky : you have (is its in some older thread) where you can set the default player for each format, (but you need to just edit a text file)

If I'm not mistaken (Morpheuz is the responsible for this component) is the config for "atabake"

I installed the new version on the OS2007HE, now it is working much better. The problem now is it will not play the music when the file name is in other language. I have some MP3 songs in chinese names, Canola 2 displays the names very well, but when I hit play, nothing happen, but it will play it when I change the names to english. Canola 1 doesn't display the chinese names, only some boxes, but it will play the songs.
Now I have Canola 1 on OS2006 on memory card, and Canola 2 on OS2007He on flash.

Racky : bora and gregale has this problem. I already explained it here.. It's a dbus bug, and it's not fixable by us :/ sorry for that.

Dbus is the component that "sends messages" between application, so canola gets your touch.. sends the event to DBUS (hei, can you please media engine to play this file : /thefile/

The problem is that this DBUS (version) just cannot understand the accents / different characters.

this is why canola1 worked, we didn't use dbus we played straight on the media player, but this had other drawbacks. Today we are fully dependent on Dbus because we don;t have direct access like before... and we have multiple backends.

You have still one option : to change the player of audio to mplayer. Maplyer doesn't have this problem. Search the forum on "how to change the default player" and you learn.

Sorry for this, but it was only fixed on 2008 software : /
