Has any one got the rtcomm mesaging upgrade installed on 51_3
 

Ive been trying to install rtcomm after reflashing to the latest 51_3 OS2008. Please some one help.

I've got it installed fin on 51. just use normal link

hey there thanks for the reply.
ii used to use it but recently i re-installed 51-3 and ive tried everythiing. it shows in appmanager but says incompatible package. i did redpill and all that. any suggestions?

That's really odd. I just put my n800 51-3 into redpill and installed http://rtcomm.garage.maemo.org/deb/r..._0.5_armel.deb and it installed from the extra, rtcomm installer.

I think you could experiment with apt-get but because a lot of reboot looops happen , so best trying official way.

i tried apt-get install rtcomm?

it says no package.

i guess that is not the way?

I think it's still not in the official repos (it's still in beta).

oh don't worry. i was a litlle dumb in not reading the instructions completely. instead of installing from extras i kept on installing from appmanager!

I want to add for those who are following this post that you have to have "red pill" mode engaged if you plan to install it through the "application manager".

That last step of launching the installer from the "extras" menu will fail if you are in normal "blue pill" mode. At least it did for me until I switched modes.
