Low memory???
 

Hi,
Whenever I try to open multiple applications there's a message that due to low memory it won't open now. What can I do about this? Sometimes when only 1 application is open i recieve the same message. Is there a software which lets us know how many applications are open in the background, which we can't see???

Control Panel -> Memory -> Virtual

Check "extend virtual memory" and select a size, 64MB is usually good.

You may need to reboot before it will let you create the virtual memory.

Also keep in mind that some applications like mail and web need to be closed out occasionally in order to reduce memory usage.

You may want to try 'top' in the terminal. It will show you the top cpu 'hogs' and it will show you how much memory they are consuming (under %MEM column).
