n810 real noob questions...
 

Ok I found out about this neat little device maybe 3 -4 days ago while looking around on ebay at things like laptops & ipods & gps's & this wonderful little device seems to do everything I want all in one...

How ever I have some questions that I am unsure about that I can't seem to see answers too anyplace so here goes... please don't laugh :D

#1 Is it a cell phone ?.. some places talk like it is and others like it is not ...

#2 I am in canada am I able to get/use it here for all its glory ?.. We still don't have the iphone here at least I don't think ...

#3 Kind of a long one with a bunch of questions here but here goes...

it can connect to the internet but can it do everything or just certain websites programed into it like utube I have seen some reviews of but that seems to be it?..

Go to online sites & forums similar to this one? Am I able to read & reply to posts like these with it just as easy as I can with a laptop or pc?.. One site I go to is the TNI & there online forums

Can I go to ebay & bid on items or other auction sites as well?.. This would be a big plus to me lots of times I am at work & would be able to/have time to do this if I had a device like this & theres normally a lot of good stuff ending while I am at work rather than at home... D'oh!


#4 if it is not a cellphone how am I able to connect to the net with it?.. Or do I have to buy a cell to use it to its full extent ?.. I work in a mall with out wifi access how ever there is a starbucks across the street in the othermall Just how far can the wifi connect?.. :S Does anyone know where I can get a list of wifi spots for chilliwack bc?.. I suppose I should really go look up stuff on wifi as I know jack all about it too as I don't have a cell or laptop or anything similar

One more... Where is the best /cheapest place to buy one?.. I would not even mind buying a used one if I could get a deal on it ... Looking at ebay I seem to see BINS go for around the $250 range is that good?.. Though I'd be a little concerned about buying something this expensive from ebay as I wouldn't be able to return it to the store if something went wrong with it ... How good is nokia with there warranty on these ?..

It can connect to any wifi hotspot or you can use bluetooth to connect to your cellphone (you must have a data plan on your phone) via DUN. Wifi range is typically better than most laptops. As for a list of wifi hotspots, you may be able to find one online, but they usually only list subscription-type hotspots.

Buy.com or Amazon occasionally run really good specials, but if you don't mind used then just look around in the Buy & Sell Forum. There's usually some pretty good deals there, and they sometimes include extra memory cards, etc. Expect to pay ~ $350-450 US new.
