Need a Rec. on a Good Bluetooth Headset

That is compatible with the N810 and has the same charger. Something that is relatively strong and won't break if I accidentally drop it. I'll be backpacking around the world and the fewer chords/chargers I carry, the better. Has anyone tried using Skype abroad at a free hotspot on one of these devices? Does it work? Thanks!!!

in december i used my n810 with skype and gizmo to call home(usa) from central america very cool with the bt headset

If you will have lots of background noise the Aliph Jawbone is the way to go. Haven't actually used with my tablet but works with every phone I have tried. Doesn't do super in wind though. As far as a noisy cafe though, the person on the other end will think you are in a room by yourself.

I have a BlueAnt z9, which I DON'T recommend. It's rated up there with the Jawbone, can pair with 3 devices which is nice, but the noise reduction doesn't work well in any kinda of breezy outdoor setting, and people complain of a constant hiss during calls. It doesn't fit snugly in your ear, and the range of sound sounds like someone talking thru a paper cup. You also need to hold the multifunction button for *THREE* seconds to end a call. If you don't plan on using it outdoors, it's ok. It comes with a USB pigtail you can charge with on any USB port, and a wall charger. I have the 3.4 firmware.

Sorry for the delay- been busy at work today -
i have a samsung wep200 which i saw in sundays ny times on sale for really cheap at j&r in ny (not affiliated- just a satisfied customer)

the quality of your connection will depend a great deal on the quality of the isp/access point. i can recall 1 "internet cafe" where they promised dsl speeds - and the latency was so bad that gizmo and skype were unusable.

latency is almost as important as upload/download speeds

I just bought an Aliph Jawbone and it's the best bluetooth headset I've used. Paired with my N800, my moto phone and several PCs with no problems.

It uses a charger that can plug into any powered USB port which is nice.

FWIW, I use a combination of an iGo charger and a Solio Magnesium (which uses iGo power tips) to charge all my laptops and gadgets.

Jabra BT350 ... eh, it works, but crackels and the button presses are lagging so if you press the button to receive a call and then press it again you connect the call and then immediately disconnect it.

Honestly the headset that comes with it is quite nice with the built in mic.

You can consider the Motorokr S9. It is a bluetooth headphone and supports A2dp, so you can listen to sterio music thru it (have to install hack on N810 to enable A2DP), and can also use as a headset.

As a headset, the only disconcerting thing is that the voice only plays in mono thru the left earpiece. Initially that seems starnge while you are wearing it over both ears, but over time you get used to it.

If you are on the move, and don't want to wear it on always, the good thing is that I just loop it around my neck and it stays under the collar, so I don't look too geeky with this earpiece around my neck. Even in usage times, its not too visible when I put it on around my head / neck.

The sound is good, and the listener can hear me very clearly (sonsidering there is no extended mic at all). I paired it to my N810 as well as to the Samsung Blackjack and pairing is a no-brainer (pair code 0000).

Over all good heaset/headphone.

Would like to mention, as stereo headphone, sound is excellent on it.

Another vote for the Aliph Jawbone. It works well with the tablet.
