repository disentanglement

I seem to have got my repositories all messed up.

I want to installl python2.5 on OS2008, which is in maemo-Extras. I added the repository, but the python packages don't show up in application manager.

It may be duplicate entries, and the advice on the gronmayer web site is:

Quote:

Avoid duplicate entries! If a repository is already installed on your system, avoid installing it again. There appears to be a problem with how this is handled. It only works correctly if you first delete ALL repositories from your system and refresh the application list. After that your system should be able to correctly handle duplicate entries.
Is this correct? Do I just delete the repos one by one inside application manager?

Python won't show up in the package manager unless you're in red pill mode. Just install it via apt-get or by an application that requires it (Canola)
