[Canola] download helper and canola
 

i think the youtube plugin is great work!

the new youtube plugin is a great start toward
being able to choose content from the canola interface.

if this can be expanded to work generically and not just with youtube, it will allow more choices of
content to be played directly from the tablet.

for example, download helper is an plug-in used with firefox to download adobe flash content from web pages.

download helper content can then be copied to the n800/n810 as an .flv file, or converted to an .mp4 file on a pc. it works generically, and not just with youtube.

i think the canola youtube interface could be made similar to download helper to provide more choice of content from flash websites (either video or still images). it would remove the limitation of only displaying content from youtube.

ok, so i looked at the code, and though i'm horrible w/ python and code in general, i know that its definitly possible, though its not easy stuff, and would take quite a but of time
not easy stuff, and quite some research, and a little reworking
while i know we got guru's round here, there's not much luck i think in creating a universal one
but feel free to correct me, cause i may be just plain wrong

Hi guys,

We plan to release a even simpler plugin source code to help, but as you said the youtube plugins shows how to fetch data, show it, download it and play it, so pretty much what you need.

Let me know if you have any other developer needs
