No CD in the box
 

I had a sealed N810 and there is no software CD in the box, I am not even sure there should be or not, but I see there is a usb lead in the box to connect to a pc, could anyone explain if I do need software on my pc before I plug it into the pc?

You don't get one. By standard, connecting the USB cable mounts the internal & removable memory cards. No need of drivers for that.

As far as I can remember no CD comes with the tablet. It is recognized as USB storage device when plugged in with 2 mmc cards mounted. Installing applications and much of everything else short of transferring files and updating firmware etc is handled on the tablet itself.
