8gb sandisc memory card, will it be ok in the N810
 

Hi all.... I am just double checking before I order my memory card, I am going to order the 8gb micro SD HC card made by sandisk for the N810 I have just got.

Will it be ok? I will have to get an adapter to make it mini SD as you can't buy a mini SD 8GB card

I use at the moment an 8GB micro SD HC card in my Nokia N82 phone and it works fine, just wanted to make sure it will be ok in the N810

As long as it is SDHC it works on both N800 and N810. Just look for it on other threads.

Newegg has an 8GB MiniSD from Patriot. I have it and haven't had any problems so far:

It comes with a miniSD->SD adapter.

Just to add my experience: I have 8GB Sandisk MicroSDHC (with Topram microSD to MiniSD adapter) in my N810 and it works great.

Future consideration: If you plan to upgrade later to the "N900", you have better luck (*cough*;)) to use microSD card with it than MiniSD. (But of course it is still long time until we are there, and flash memory capacities go up and prices go down... so you may not need to worry too much future upgradeability?)

hmm, I have a no-name micro to mini SD adaptor. I also have a Sandisk 4Gb micro SDHC card. I'm guessing the no-name part is also Sandisk hence the fact it won't work in the N810 (the micro SD card is itself good though as it works with the Sandisk micro to full SD adaptor in my N800).

So, I see TopRAM adaptors work, what else are people using as I can't seem to find TopRAM adaptors in the UK except ones shipped from Taiwan via eBay?

I bought my adaptor from eBay... but it was shipped from US reseller. :rolleyes:

But it is only a sample size of one... so there is not enough proof that they are good in general. YMMV. :p
