Wayfinder Users
Just wondering how many of you have actually purchased the wayfinder and use it constantly?
I activated my 7 day trial, but didn't get a full use out of it. I'd like to know if it is worth it. Yes I know you can now purchase a 1mnth use which is nice. I use it on my N800 with a bluetooth GPs, so I can at least see where I am, but routing would be nice. |
Re: Wayfinder Users
Please, if you found any confirmation, request, option.....whatever about the Wayfinder please let me know, i'm looking for the same thing.
thx!. Alex |
Re: Wayfinder Users
I purchased the 1 month option, and just confirmed for myself that it's very useful but still somewhat buggy. I need to put together something to communicate my issues...

Re: Wayfinder Users
I bought a 770 a while back with Navicore for 150 quid. Gave the 770 to grandad and used the software for myself. Still haven't transferred over the serial number to Wayfinder - but I _should_ have 3 years when I do! [Reminds me, need to call them about that!]
It was _VERY_ useful when I was out and about. Unfortunately European use was VERY limited - I still can't believe they can't navigate from one end of Europe to the other! Their excuse (memory limits) is BS. |
Re: Wayfinder Users
i bought the full subscription basically to replace the $9.99/month charge i was paying for vz navigator (gps on my cell). i use it all the time and feel it is worth thenprice. it works just as well as my now aging garmin etrex legend c when it comes to routing. the garmin is much better off road/hiking.

Re: Wayfinder Users
Well I ended up purchasing the 1 month trial again.
I already have the Canada maps on my unit, but I'm currently downloading the western side for USA (since I live near the border, and go down often). I CANNOT believe the size of the file. Okay yes I understand its that large, but why don't they have it broken up by states? I don't need all of western USA, just one state. My garmin 60CS is much better map wise. I should mention that its been downloading for at least 50 minutes and and only at 25%. Yaabas, are you saying that you cannot mix two maps together? I hope thats not the case. It would be really pointless to have to setup two different routes when using the US and CAN map. |
Re: Wayfinder Users
I just bought the full license to replace TomTom 5 on my knackered XDA. Only used it a few times, but happy so far. I just wish there was a female British voice, rather than the "english" voices - "traffic circle" anyone?

Re: Wayfinder Users
I use wayfinder (bought n800 navigation kit and used that license key). Limited use so far but I like it since it makes the n800 an integrated car "gadget" since it has music and navigation in one. The only downside so far I found is that the time-of-arrival estimate was way too optimistic in every case.
I have a European license, but will spend 3 weeks in the USA (Colorado) this summer so will probably buy the 1 month license for the USA (since the N800 will come along). However, a question I have found no answer to is: What states do the East USA and West USA maps cover? |

Re: Wayfinder Users
Well after two failed attempts to download the map for the USAwest, it finally was able to last night.
Of course I was correct, no way I can use the USA and Canada map at the same time. This needs to be fixed. |
