0S2008 n810 wordpy won't publish blog

Title pretty much says it: I have a n810 with the latest version of Wordpy (I checked, 0.6 version IIRC)configured OK. In the config process it fetched the blogname correctly from Blogger, so it's connecting OK.
Anyway, test posts to the blog fail. Wordpy seems to just hang after ticking "publish", sometimes with just a partially drawn screen, and it takes a while till I can get out of wordpy at it's unresponsive.
Should I reinstall wordpy, or is there some trick, or dependency I am overlooking?
Thanks

Re: 0S2008 n810 wordpy won't publish blog

It's a strange problem. It's the first report that I have about it and I know some people who are using wordpy with blogger without problems. I have tested it to a great extent, but there can be some bug has escaped.

Could you run wordpy from the Terminal application?
Run the Terminal app, write "MaemoWordPy" without the "", and try to publish something. There will have to be some error shown in the terminal app, please write it here.

Re: 0S2008 n810 wordpy won't publish blog

Yerga,
I started X-Term and entered the command to run MaemoWordPy. It started after 5 or so seconds.
I composed a Test blog post to blogger, hit publish, little seemed to happen for about 20 secs, but the WordPy window wasn't drawn fully (it was mostly blank, with just 1/2 the upper tab area showing):
back in the X-Term window after 3 secs or so I saw this:
settings.conf exist
accounts.conf exist

Back to WordPy window, still not doing anything, then finally a message came up saying: MaeomoWordPy is not responding. Close application?......so I did.

Back in X-term, it said "killed" under the 2 lines I quoted above.

I checked, and needless to say, the test blog entry never got added to the blog.

Thanks for your help.

Re: 0S2008 n810 wordpy won't publish blog

Addendum: Went into the blogger account setup on WordPy and refetched the address of the blog. It did that fine. When I hit the small drop-down arrow next to the address bar to see and select the blog address I have two entries for the same blog address.
This time I selected the other one (the one that wasn't blue), composed a test blog entry, hit publish. This time I got a screen that said "Publishing", but it kept on and on publishing (it was only a one word test !!)

This time, back in X-Term, there's an error message "No Labels".

Re: 0S2008 n810 wordpy won't publish blog

Did yet another test. This time all I did was put the word "Test4" in the Technorati labels area. Hit publish, this time it said Publishing was a success!!
The test post still hasn't shown up on blogger though (now 5 mins later) but that may just be due to a slow update process.

Note, even though it says it publishes OK, there's still that "no labels" error in the x-term window.

My question now is: was I just "lucky" this time, and do I need to put some random word in the Technorati labels area to publish a post?

Now about 15 mins later: post still hasn't shown up on the blog.

Well, when a application hang, the OS closes it. According to your comments, maemo wordpy had hanged. The worst thing is it doesn't show any error.

Well, it isn't exactly an error message else a info message. No problem with it.
Btw, it could be some problem getting the blog name and blog id. And because it is shown two times in the configuration.

Technorati tags is an optional feature. You *should* can to publish without technorati tags.
And when maemo wordpy publish an article, it *should* be shown in blogger instantaneously.
But there must be something failing in your installation that is giving these problems.

My ideas are,
1) Delete the configuration directory: start the terminal application, and run "rm -Rf /home/user/.maemowordpy/"
Try again.

2) Uninstall maemo wordpy, and reinstall it. Try again.

BTW, have you tried to publish from some other software? Is your blogger installation different from the default ones?

If I imagine some thing more I will add it here, but just now I am empty :(

Re: 0S2008 n810 wordpy won't publish blog

I can publish to the blog just fine with a Vista laptop and an XP desktop PC, posts usually show up *immediately*.

I will try the deletion of the file you suggest.......then if that fails will try a reinstall of WordPy.

(it's about an hour since the last Test post, and it hasn't shown up on the blog, so I doubt it ever will.)

BTW: after deleting the conf directory it was impossible to start WordPy by itself or through x-term. Got a whole bunch of errors in x-term.
i just uninstalled WordPy and will try again.

I saw that error once. I believe I deleted the blog from the preferences and then added it again and haven't seen the problem again.

My error, it should be the files inside, not the directory. Not problem, if you reinstall it, it will recreate the directory.

Re: 0S2008 n810 wordpy won't publish blog

Well, I un-installed WordPy...now I am stuck inside maemo.org hell. The usual issues: can't get the repository to refresh the application list, and of course, thus, can't get WordPy to install. Grrrr. this is a pain.

Any chance you could send me the requisite files and I will install it through the App Manager "Install from file..."
