JAlbum alternative?

I'm considering a crosscountry trip by train and would like to take only my N800 with me, leaving my laptop behind. I plan on taking pictures along the way and am looking for some sort of web album creation software similar in function to JAlbum. JAlbum takes a folder of images and makes a bunch of web pages with downsized images and thumbnails. Unfortunately, it requires Java.

I have a web host of my own and don't want to use something like flickr. I want to create all the html pages locally and then upload them and the images to my remote site in one go.

I've done admittedly very little searching on this issue and am hoping that someone can suggest something that works on OS2008. I'm very comfortable with command line stuff and php/html/javascript, but would prefer not to have to write a utility myself.

Anything that fits my requirements? Thanks for the help!

Re: JAlbum alternative?

Does you webhoster allow active content (php...)? In this case you can install a php based album directly on your webspace and upload the pictures from the N800 via browser (with some album applications even mass uploading many images in one go)
e.g.
http://coppermine-gallery.net/
http://gallery.menalto.com/
http://www.phpalbum.net/

There are also some Python applications for creating static albums like Jalbum does.
e.g.
http://pyac.sourceforge.net/
http://pyalbum.sourceforge.net/
http://pygallery.sourceforge.net/
In theory they should also run on a N8x0 (maybe with some small modifications).
