software for nokia n810
 

hi i have been looking at these forums for quite about a week and i found some interesting stuff, but i was missing one thing, maybe i just diidnt find it but it is here somewhere. i recently bought my n810 and i mostly use it for word processing in my workplace. i use it when i cant use my laptop or compputer. i need a software that woudl be compatible with office word. i need to write notes sometiems few pages long and copy it to my computer and carry my work on there. is there any software you can recomend?

also i am interested in nokia internet tablet users, what softwares are popular so i would appreciate if you could list how you use your nokia and what programs, widgets, anythgin you use that helps you do your tasks, or spend your free time.

Use a plain text editor, there are some on maemo.org/downloads. You can create a plain text file on the tablet, copy it to your desktop and import it in word.

thanks but do u know any software i could use to open ms word documents. i mean could i ope already existing file and carrry on working on my tablet?:confused:

By now the only viable option is docs.google.com or www.zoho.com (slower) - in other words there are no local apps yet which can edit word files. Another solution is to emulate a macintosh machine on the IT and install a microsoft office 4.2.1 package - but this won't open recent word docs, only reaches the word 97-98-2000 docs with the appropriate converters.
Abiword, when ready, will open and modify word docs - at present is in beta state but not ready yet for serious use.

Hi,
I have some problem with file. By mistake I remove file from: Utilities>File manager>Documents.
I would like to recover it. But I don't remember what was it. I know that there is User guides. There was also something else. Can someone write me what is there originally

You can use docreader with antiword to open Word docs on the Tablet. Works fine.
