n810 fails to start - logo screen is all I get
I've had a n810 for about a month now, has been working great uptil now.
Yesturday I put it down after using it. Later I noticed the power light wasn't flashing, although it had almost full charge. So I tried to turn it on, the Nokia logo comes on the screen in bright, and then 2 secs later goes dim and then 2 secs later goes off, and then nothing - no hands image. It seems to have failed on me - some times this happens repeatedly, ie it just goes through this cycle a few times. Ths is what happens when its plugged in to the charger. No software changes or anything else changed in my last session of using it. Anyone know what the problem might be? Can't help feeling I just lost £250 worth of hardware. :( |

Hmm, that is what happens when the battery is dead but you say the battery is full.
I think you may need to reflash it. |

You should be able to simply unplug from AC and hit the power button. cheers, kernelpanic p.s.- Best thing to do is leave it on always. Your tablet uses more power when booting than it'll use sitting idle and on overnight or even longer. Counter-intuitive, but true... |

Faraz; I've experienced the same problem as well. As a matter of fact I just sent my *second* N810 back to Nokia for repair. The first one worked for about 4 weeks and then showed the same behavior that you experienced. So I sent it off to Huntsville, AL for repair and Nokia sent me a brand new one in exchange saying mine was unrepairable. This new one lasted about 6 weeks before bricking. I just returned it last Friday. Hopefully the third time will be the charm. The only thing that I've noticed is that times between charges get shorter and shorter meaning I have to recharge it more frequently. I'm not doing anything unusual with my IT and like my 700 (which is stable as a rock by the way) I've been leaving the N810 on all the time.
qwerty12; I didn't realize you could reflash the N810 if it couldn't boot. It never occured to me to try that. |

Whoops meant my N770 not 700.

actually that happened to me on my way to work one day. Ruined my whole train ride. I realized very late in the train ride that if I take my memory card out it booted just fine. Try that and see what happens.
