digital maps via palm os and garnet vm
My nirvana is to get detailed topographical maps to work on the GPS on my 810.
Here in Britain, Ordnance Survey is the standard, and several companies (Fugawi, Memory map etc) offer them in Palm os format. In theory Garnet vm converts an Internet Tablet into a Palm device, but getting it to sync with the Palm software seems (from searching the threads here) to be very difficult. I've tried the usb link and a wireless network link, but neither works. The problem seems to be that the Palm desktop software does not recognise the Nokia IT, and the PC only recognizes it as a media player. At a basic level does anyone know which palm type device the Garnet vm is modelling? That might help in getting the right version of the Palm desktop software. Any advice much appreciated twynog |

It seems that the T3 T5 TX Treo 650 are compartible, since the G VM allows you to chose which one your sofeware is compatible so the current new PDA's will do, not sure the centro's ; if you have installed the VM check the settings for device compatibilities it is somewhere there. i am waiting for my N810 so i can not go further but i have been reading a lot being palm os user. |

I think Wifi sync should be the easiest to get working... I am not sure USB is even possible with Garnet VM?
