Upload .txt file to PC via WiFi
After I do some computation on N770, I will output a txt file.
How can I write a simple program to connect to WiFi and upload it to PC automatically? Or what kind of software already provide this kind of mechanism. Thanks for help. |

Why don't you just email it as an attachment?

Send it using ftp or ssh, I think it is the best way

Re: Upload .txt file to PC via WiFi
Copy it to PC using File Manager. If your PC and NIT are in the same Network, you can have a PC folder set as a Shared Folder.

Re: Upload .txt file to PC via WiFi
Sorry! I'm not sure what is the same network.
What do you mean the same network? If my laptop and NIT are using campus wireless service, this means they are in the same network? I'm using Cisco's VPNC software on laptop while using campus wireless network. Is it possible I can find VPNC for N770? Thanks a lot. |
Re: Upload .txt file to PC via WiFi
I will tell you how this works in my case:
In my PC I configured a folder as shared and gave all the users full permissions over it. From any other device connected to my network (cable or wifi) I can access this public folder and move files from/to it. In your case, I would start sharing a folder in your PC and checking if you can see it from your NIT using File Manager. I am sorry, but I am amateur in this issues. I hope someone else could help you more than me. Good luck. |

I don't remember whether/what repository I added to get it, but it shows up from time to time for an upgrade in the Application Manager. Just do some searching, you should be able to find it. I use that and Remote Desktop and ssh quite a bit. desiv |
Re: Upload .txt file to PC via WiFi
I'm using VPNC on an N800. When the boss saw me with an SSH session over VPNC to a 'secure' server while having lunch at the local pub he had me order two N800's for his family.
I'm not sure if you said the remote machine is Windoze or *nix but something like rsync, sftp, etc should be able to be scripted on the N to move the files automagically. |
