Optomizing NickJr Playback on N800
OK, with the OS2008 update my N800 is playing very nicely with my 3G AT&T phone, which gives me the option of playing videos on the road for my daughter (who's handicapped so one of us always sits in back with her). She's a huge Dora fan, and I found that there are some online Dora streaming videos at:
http://www.nickjr.com/playtime/cats/video/index.jhtml Problem is that playback is choppy. I know it might be the speed, but I also notice that it's kind of choppy even at home on the WiFi connection which makes me suspect there's an N800 setting or issue. Suggestions? Help please? Thanks in advance! |
Re: Optomizing NickJr Playback on N800
Flash, right? Flash is terrible on all platforms and devices, but moreso on the N800, which has modest hardware and it's Flash plugin is neglected by Adobe.
Your best solution would be a non-Flash version of the videos. |
Re: Optomizing NickJr Playback on N800
It's not obvious whether it's flash or not. Unfortunately, there are very few Dora videos available on DVD or otherwise. Hence the reason for my post.

Youtube has many (short) Dora the Explorer videos. They
should play OK. Have you tried those? http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...r&search_type= |
Re: Optomizing NickJr Playback on N800
It's an n800 issue. If they are flash or wmv (they can be ripped too), I'd just download them at home and convert them and play with mplayer.
btw: when I read the title, I thought the vids were for you :p |
Re: Optomizing NickJr Playback on N800
The mYTube application will let you search YouTube and then download videos for offline playback via mplayer. It should handle them quite well if you'd like to go that route.

Sounds like I need to get another, larger SD card and start downloading and converting then. Any suggestions for a large, inexpensive (never cheap) SD card and a good conversion tool?
