Simple search dialog box, but screen keyboard MIA
 

I'm a new N800 owner. I searched & found others discussing problems with the "search" feature, but haven't found this problem:

On the Forum page, (using my N800, not my PC), when I tap on "Search", a dialog box opens, but no amount of tapping or double-tapping will cause the on-screen keyboard to appear. Only if I choose "Advanced Search", will I get a dialog box where my on-screen keyboard will appear.

Am I doing something wrong?
