Creating a deb package - mini-mini-howto
 

OK,

As I beginner, I had more trouble creating a package than I did porting the program I chose. :o:p Partially because, although I've used Linux for years, I went the RPM route, so I wasn't familiar with debs.

Luckily, I found pypackager, and lots of help here in the forums!! Thanx to all!!!

It shows how to layout the files for pypackager, and the text for my 3 scripts.
My preinst and postinst scripts use ukki's method for MMC redirection, but I tweaked it a bit to work with a symbolic link and to include the amount of free space on the maemo-confirm-text choice window.

It was too long for the forums, but it's not blogspam or anything. And it's really bland HTML! :-) REALLY BAD!!! :-)

Anyway, hope this helps someone.
