New Google Reader beta for advanced mobile browsers

The Official Google Reader blog says this beta is for the iPhone and other advanced mobile browsers.

The old version of Google Reader for iPhone (left) doesn't let you star items or open them in-line. In the new version (right) -- http://www.google.com/reader/i/ -- starring, sharing, and keeping unread are done in place, so you never have to leave the list view or load a new page.

Enjoy!

Here is a a couple of pictures of how the N800 renders it. I must say though, its much better then the built in piece of junk that we have

Re: New Google Reader beta for advanced mobile browsers

On related news, I've been using an app called Feeds on my iPhone that syncs to my Google Reader account for offline viewing ( http://justanotheriphoneblog.com/wor...r-app-updated/ ). It feels like IMAP for my RSS: as I do my offline reading of the articles on my iPhone, they will be marked as 'read' back on the Google Reader account on my next sync.

Does anyone know of any NIT compatible apps that does this? I think it's a very good implementation of offline RSS.

Edit: I think the latest version of Liferea may include this feature ( http://liferea.blogspot.com/2008/05/...r-support.html ). Let's hope the NIT port comes soon :)

That Feeds program sounds like heaven for RSS. Unfortunately I haven't heard of any programs like that.

Try the new Google Reader in vertical, full page mode. Very promising, especially with a bit of help from Greasemonkey.

I even had stories up to 300% and could read them comfortably, though rendering seemed slow at that size. I'm used to reading things at 80-100%.

In case anyone's interested, here's a screenshot from the n800 in portrait mode:

Seems to work very well. I might have to start using Google Reader...

Oh man once you get used to Google Reader you'll never go back. I am extremely pleased with this new iPhone / Advanced version.
