New Port: Google Reader Notifier
 

Ported Google Reader Notifier RC1 (there wasn't too much to do), runs with some small glitches. Requires PyGTK, but probably everyone has.

Changes:
* Enlarged icons and changed them to 24bit PNG.
* Replaced egg.trayicon with Gtk.StatusIcon
* Changed Google Reader to open in iPhone mode.

Release 2 changes:
* Text notifications added as osso notification banners.

Things that don't work:
* Number of messages beside the icon /i guess noone will miss it ;)/.

To do:
* Remove unread items and no connection notification - too annoying for little benefit, they have icon representation too.
* Disable the GR check when in offline mode - i suspect that can eat some battery juice.

It's nice, but I have so many articles in line I don't need to be notified that they are waiting. ("Flash! Associated Press just posted an article!")
