New 770 Owner
 

Hi Gang... I purchased a new 770 today and wouldn't you know it... its defective! Have to take it back. But what I need from my "new" friends" :D here, is help with the fact that I am a Apple Mac user and have no clue how to install firmware and/or new software on the 770. I would appreciate finding another Mac user here to help this "old" Dude out.

If I recall correctly, the maemo wiki says how to do the firmware for mac OSx.

A lot of the new software can be installed by downloading it straight to the 770, by surfing the web.

BTW... has anyone also experienced upon bringing home their new toy discovering that the display wasn't up to par? My experience is just that! Vertical lines and generally very poor res. Thats why I am returning it ASAP. Just curious if this has occurred with others.

no, mine is clear and bright. did you check the brightness setting

A couple of other people had problems like that. there was a thread here a couple of weeks ago about it.

Hi Guys... took the unit back to CompUSA and they gave me a new one... is working like a charm. Only thing now is it isn't connecting via my WLAN... have to work on that.
